Dark triadic personality traits

Three dark triadic personality traits are Narcissism, psychopathy and Machiavellianism.

Narcissism is the pursuit of gratification from vanity or egotistic admiration of one's own attributes. The term originated from Greek mythology, where the young Narcissus fell in love with his own image reflected in a pool of water.

Psychopathy also known as—though sometimes distinguished from—sociopathy is traditionally defined as a personality disorder characterized by enduring antisocial behavior, diminished empathy and remorse, and disinhibited or bold behavior.

Machiavellianism is one of the dark triad personalities, characterized by a duplicitous interpersonal style, a cynical disregard for morality and a focus on self-interest and personal gain.

Typically not the sort of person you’d want to hang out with – but these traits are not only present, but even common among humankind, so one need to know about them.
