ICAI Logo..
Having been together just for two years, soon after our tenth, we My friend Geetha and myself, had made some decisions, which determined our destiny....
Since then, we had always been seeing this logo of the institute:
The logo of an organization packs in both heritage and brand DNA.
Nestle’s ’small nest’ bird family has stood for baby food, milk and milk products for the past nearly 100 years.
Chennai-based chartered accountant CS Shastri, a devotee of Sri Aurobindo and a Council member of the ICAI, sought his advice on a symbol that would capture the spirit and intent of the newly formed organization. According to Prasanta Mukherjee, who wrote about the history of the organisation’s emblem in `The Chartered Accountant’ “Sri Aurobindo gave CS Shastri the emblem with a Garuda in the center and a quotation from the Kathopanishad: Ya esa suptesu jagarti, One who is awake amongst those who are asleep.” This logo was finally selected amongst all the suggestions which were received.
The choice of Garuda as a mascot was an interesting one. The Garuda packs in strong symbolism as the Vahana of Lord Vishnu. He flies faster than thought and destroys the Nagas and Serpents. Sri Krishna, in the Gita, in the verse 10.30 says:
“Vainateyashcha Pakshinam” (I am Garuda, the son of Vinata, among the birds.)
The connection between Garuda and the Nagas is crucial to the philosophy of the logo for the newly founded organization. As Sri Aurobindo once described the connection between Garuda and Nagas thus, “….the winged Garuda revered to be the upbearer of divinity, who opens his vans to the sunlight and soars to the highest seat of Vishnu,” is also the eternal destroyer of the Nagas and “the Naga is the symbol of the mysterious earth-bound force in man.” The emblem was placed and adopted at the first meeting of the Council of the Institute in New Delhi on August 15, 1949
From an Indian perspective, Garuda is the Hindu name for the constellation Aquila and the Brahminy kite is considered to be the contemporary representation of Garuda.
Garuda is depicted as having the golden body of a strong man with a white face, red wings, and an eagle's beak and with a crown on his head. This ancient deity was said to be massive, large enough to block out the sun.
Other nations adopt a more stylistic approach to the Garuda's depiction, where it depicts an eagle (being much larger than a kite)
The eagle is the symbol for quiet power and scope. We must open our lenses, like the eagle, to see the forest and the trees, and to spot opportunities to create synergy by joining individual parts of our lives to make a greater, more dynamic whole person-a person who understands the meaning of team and time.
Team work, is like running a relay race. What is needed is supporting each other achieve our collective deadlines. Work together under difficult circumstances to ensure we have collective success.
Whatever we do, we must remember our aim at every moment. If you dream to fly with eagles, don't waste time in swimming with the ducks...
Ah….Finally An Idiot Box…..
True, as said, I too agree, but also disagree, that TV is an Idiot box.. If the TV is used right, it can be a great source of relaxation and better yet, education. But with anything, moderation is the key.
One could just plop down in front of it and there is no interaction--anyone, could watch it.
I was sad, that the person who promised to give me TV just disappeared into thin air, not because, I did not get the TV, but because of the loss of trust, and here was another friend of mine, my Saroo...who gifted me this...Because of my sorrow??
Doordarshan, though the national channel, is the nick name for television in India…
Here goes the history by which it was introduced world wide...
1930 to 1939 : Red
1940 to 1949 : Light Red
1950 to 1959 : Orange
1960 to 1969 : Yellow
1970 to 1979 : Light Green
1980 to 1989 : Green
1990 to 1999 : Dark Green

The first time images were transmitted electrically via early mechanical fax machines, including the pantelegraph, developed in the late 1800s. The concept of electrically-powered transmission of television images in motion, was first sketched in 1878 as the telephonoscope, shortly after the invention of the telephone. At the time, it was imagined by early science fiction authors, that someday that light could be transmitted over wires, as sounds were.
The idea of using scanning to transmit images was put to actual practical use in 1881 in the pantelegraph, through the use of a pendulum-based scanning mechanism. From this period forward, scanning in one form or another, has been used in nearly every image transmission technology to date, including television. This is the concept of "rasterization", the process of converting a visual image into a stream of electrical pulses.
In 1884 Paul Gottlieb Nipkow, a 23-year old university student in Germany, patented the first electromechanical television system which employed a scanning disk, a spinning disk with a series of holes spiraling toward the center, for rasterization. The holes were spaced at equal angular intervals such that in a single rotation the disk would allow light to pass through each hole and onto a light-sensitive selenium sensor which produced the electrical pulses. As an image was focused on the rotating disk, each hole captured a horizontal "slice" of the whole image.
And here goes the latest ones:
Lovely
Enchanting
Gorgeous
So which one is your favourate?
A teacher from Primary School asks her students to write an essay about
what they would like God to do for them...
At the end of the day, while marking the essays, she read one that made her very emotional.
Her husband, who had just walked in, saw her crying and asked her:- 'What happened?' *
*She answered- 'Read this. It is one of my students' essay.'
**'Oh God, tonight I ask you something very special: Make me into a television. I want to take its place and live like the TV in my house. Have my own special place, And have my family around ME. To be taken seriously when I talk.... I want to be the centre of attention and be heard without interruptions or questions. I want to receive the same special care that the TV receives even when it is not working.
Have the company of my dad when he arrives home from work, even when he is tired. And I want my mom to want me when she is sad and upset, instead of ignoring me...
And... I want my brothers to fight to be with me... I want to feel that family just leaves everything aside, every now and then, just to spend some time with me.
And last but not least, ensure that I can make them all happy and entertain> them...
Lord I don't ask you for much... I just want to live like a TV.' **
At that moment the husband said: - 'My God, poor kid. What horrible parents!'
The wife looked up at him and said:- 'That essay is our son's !!!*

Why people dont forgive?
People act and react in non loving ways when they don’t know better. People bear grudges out of ignorance and innocence. When they can experience a better way, they go for it.
No one in their heart of hearts really wants to withhold and punish. It is merely the only way he or she knows to react when another person disrespects them.
We have problems because ‘we know not what we do.” We experience pain in our relationships because we do not know how to share our love in ways that work.
We are missing the skills.
I loved to here in the interview Fatima saying, hate and dislike is not good.
The story reiterates, Life is like a roller costar ride..it is a vehicle, and time is its wheels..Life is fragile and short deed of God..It may tick away at the tick of a second, so why put on pride and hatred?
The best but difficult way to forgive is to forget..
Love and forgive all….Where is the time to hate…when there is so little time to love…Decision making is upto us. Trust is more important in every relationship. There are people around to brain wash, in lust of power, money or?? Why do people fabricate things? Garnish their own traits while tarnish that of others?
What better time to think of this, when it was around this time, Jesus Christ dies on the cross, with prayers, 'Forgive them, for they know not, what they are doing'
If you cant fly run,
If you cant run, walk,
If you cant walk, crawl...
But whatever you do..
'Keep moving towards your goal...'
But so good…if it is for and towards peace, love, understanding, and cooperation…
Don't be the prisoner of the past, be the architect of the future...

Royal Enfield: Kashmir to Kanyakumari...
The Ultimate Procrastinator, as Rajesh calls himself, who loves his bike, would indeed have had A memorable and thrilling travelogue, from Kanyakumari to Kashmir…I at times envy him, for he dared to do what his heart wanted, with his friends..….Through, the Himalayas, Manali-Ladakh-kargil road….…a total distance of 2535.74 km ..
I realized it ever more when we had a spectacular ride, faster and memorable one on the 28th of February 2010 Sunday, with recorded hottest day of the season in the past four years at 31.6 degrees Celsius...to and from Ernakulam-Allapuzha, attending two functions with a span of four hours; and then to the classes...
On the Royal Enfield so much better than Super Splendor, Ambition, karisma, Bajaj Pulsar, ….smooth, comfortable, not the…AVL engined bullets but the cast iron engine bullets..
Travel teaches you so many things: Out of necessity, you make so many inventions…And you will have memories to cherish…
Venice of the East...Allapuzha..
And when its a bike, you are with the common man, but travelling, you can see them, feel them, stop for them, and get along, through the busiest of traffic...that is why, I love them...

Towards Unity ..
Member State of the European Union is any one of the 27 sovereign states that have acceded to the European Union (EU) since its inception in 1951 as the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), an attempt to unite Europe. From an original membership of six states, there have been six successive enlargements, the largest occurring on 1 May 2004, when ten states joined. The EU is currently composed of twenty republics, six kingdoms, and one grand duchy.
Bulgaria and Romania are the most recent Member States, joining on 1 January 2007

Before being allowed to join the European Union, a state must fulfil the economic and political conditions generally known as the Copenhagen criteria. These basically require that a candidate Member State must enjoy a secular, democratic system of government, together with the corresponding freedoms and institutions, and respect the rule of law.
Four Western European countries that have chosen not to join the EU have partly committed to the EU's economy and regulations: Iceland, which has now applied for membership, Liechtenstein and Norway, which are a part of the single market through the European Economic Area, and Switzerland, which has similar ties through bilateral treaties. The relationships of the European microstates, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican include the use of the euro and other areas of co-operation.

Don't let your mind become dull, because it will suffer atrophy if it's not exercised. Step out of ignorance ..and one way is reading...
Reading can be a powerful catalyst for thinking; it has the potential for stimulating wisdom...All readers need not be leaders, but leaders need to be readers..Not necessarily of any Non-fiction book, but at least of the happenings in the area, he/she would like to remain a leader. Reading may not necessarily be a book or a newspaper...it could be even internet, or some other means...

Just Chill..Corporate..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_(film)
Corporate is about the vicious circle of ambition in the private sector, and how human emotions and life have no significance in it.
The movie starts off on a nice solemn note by Atul Kulkarni as we are introduced into the rivalry of the 2 big enterprises (soft drink giants ) and the story just moves Madhur Bhandarkar way, talking about the business tactics and manipulations, how companies use NGOs, the media, the religious institutions and politicians to their own advantage. And how the politicians use companies, film industry, swamis etc. It takes us into into a world of deceit, treachery and betrayal.
Rajat Kapoor plays Vinay Sehgal, Raj Babbar plays Dharmesh Marwah, respective heads of their business..
Performances by Bipasha and Kay Kay are cool. Bipasha is impressive as hard-worker who will do anything to get her work done. The transformation of Bipasha from middle class city girl to a working woman is amongst the most convincing aspects of the film. And for this, she had to pay dearly. Kay Kay is very realistic. There are Short comedy and jokes scenes in between , like people becoming public and private in companies, sleeping over the issue…between the peons in the office…
If you are ethical or emotional like the CEO Naveen, you will have to leave the company, and the best then is consultancy. Marwah Group's CEO Pervez, is easily charmed by Nishi, and therefore losses trade secret first, which cost him his job next. The impact, and the race for awards too is depicted here.
In corporate world, handful of men and women, hold in their hands the power to influence the lives of unsuspecting millions. Live their lives. Learn their lies. This film takes a deep insight in the mindset of these powerful people and attempts to find out what makes them tick. It explores the nexus between the corporate world and the political; and follows the trail of sex and corruption that hides behind a glittering and glassy exterior.
Also it throws a light on how the common men forget all that is dangerous in a product, and fall to the catchy tag lines and advertisements...
Thanks to Sarooo, could finally see this movie on the Idiot Box...
