Mattanchery/Fort Kochi & Uduppi/Manipal - Feb 18 Trips

Finally after waiting for 10 long years Rahul and Mamta got a go ahead and with blessings from parents got into wedlock at Ram mandir Mattanchery which gave us an opportunity to explore this place. With sumptuous Gujarathi breakfast we went to Balaji temple, Sri Krishna Temple, Saibaba temple and Jain Temple. Got an opportunity to be part of world conference on religion and be to Santhilals as well.

In a couple of days was Anil' s wedding. Could visit Church and Rameshwaram temple.

Thanks to Rohit for inviting us for his son's Upanayanam. We booked our bus tickets to Udupi. Finally Jisha and myself made a trip though we had to cancell both ours in 2017. Life is what happens to us when we are busy making other plans. A surprising sleeper seats. Though the bus was delayed we reached our stay at Hotel Mathura comforts in the vicinity of Sri Krishna temple on Saturday morning.

After having breakfast and freshening up we set to Malpe unaware of the adventure ahead of us. St.Marys Island as read was amazing, clean and unique with stones; shells; mud and rocks. It is believed that Vasco Da Gama was here. But the unexpected fun was when we returned. We did Parasailing; speed boat ride; monkey boat. I was in the water for long.Returned to the hotel at around 7pm.

Next day morning went to Kaup beach; highlight there was light house on the rock. While returning went to church and attended Malayalam mass. Walked around Krishna temple but search of Iscon was a big disappointment. In the evening went to Kemmanu; did not do the boating but the hanging bridge was scary and though only walkable guys were riding bikes on it. The landscape was scenic. Went to the place were three rivers met and they joined the sea.a bit but less crowded than our backwaters with Fort Kochi and Vypin on either sides meeting Arabian sea.
While returning went to Malpie again to walk on the newly constructed bridge.

All 4 beaches were unique and different.

Next day attended the Upanayanam. Which was an experience by itself . Then went to the Shiva and Krishna temple. The caravan was amazing. Though the deities in the temple can be viewed only from out; was blessed to get in as poojari was getting in for the Pooja. Had delicious lunch and set off to Coin Museum and Manipal . Manipal university and garden was huge and another world by itself. Came back to the hotel and then to the bus stop.

As all good things come to an end; this too did giving us sweet memories.

But there was another sweet day awaiting for us the next weekend and it was the Potluck with family of my dear preceding team at Hoysala guesthouse. Blessed to have everyone with families, some single, couple, with one child; two ; newly wedded; mom to be Bank was the highlight and Joseph's mom guest of honour.
