Diwali Sixers





 

1. Sri Mahalakshmi emerges from the cosmic ocean.

2. Sri Rama returns to Ayodhya, after vanquishing Ravana.

3. Sri Krishna & Satyabhama destroy the evil Narakasura.

4. Sri Kali Puja on the dark night of Diwali Amavasya.

5. Sri Mahavira attains the state of liberation, Pari Nirvana.

6. It's also the day Pandavas reach heaven. They start 14 days before dussera and kandils are kept to bid farewell to the departed souls.

Six things we traditionally do during Diwali, which if we do with understanding would make our Diwali spiritual and meaningful; 


1. Cleaning of house - Let us also clean our mind of all the accumulated dirt of kama (lust), krodha (anger), lobha (greed), Mada (pride), moha (attachment), and matsarya (jealousy)


2. We buy/ bring in new things - let us acquire true knowledge


3. We eat sweets - let us share and sweeten other life, particularly of down trodden


4. We light lamps- let us light lamp of knowledge and spread it.


5. We do Laxmi Puja - let us pray for furtherance of our spiritual wealth


6. We burst crackers - let us burst our ego - noice less. but peace descends


Six days of Diwali:

1. Vasu Baras - Cleaning home and worship animals.

2. Dhantheris - Goddess of Ayurveda. Health and Wealth. Theris is 13th day of Amavasya. 

3. Narakchaturdashi - Ram returns to Ayodhya. 

4. Mahalakshmi Pooja - Mahalakshmi came out after churning milky ocean and got married  to Vishnu

5. Govardana Pooja - Krishna lifted Govardana to protect from the wrath

6. Bhai Dooj - Love of brother and sister.

Diwali - The festival of lights, mirrors life's journey - dispelling darkness, triumphing over challenges. Rangoli pains the varied hues of experiences, making life a vibrant canvas. Like Diwali sweets, cherish life's sweet moments, share joy. May this festival inspire us to kindle our inner light, embrace life's tapestry and spread love. 

 Shine like sparkles, glow like candles and burn all the negativity like crackles.
