FIRE these 3 types of team members right now!! ~ Rajiv Talreja

If your team is not performing the way it should... and you feel like

“Log toh bhare pade hain… par output dekhke lagta hai solo business hi hai.”

The... today’s email is for YOU.

Because, this is one of the biggest mistakes I see MSME business owners making:

Keeping people in the team who should’ve been let go a long time ago.

Not because they’re "bad people".

But because they’re just not right for the role anymore.

And the longer you wait, the more your business suffers.

So let’s make it simple.

FIRE these 3 types of team members right now:

1. The “Haan ho jaayega” type

This person agrees to everything. But... nothing gets done.

You assign them something. They nod. They smile. And next day — “Sir woh reh gaya…”

⚠️ Action:

If they can’t take ownership, it’s time to move.

2. The “Main toh boss ka banda hoon” type

This one acts like they’re untouchable.

Zero performance. But full attitude — because they think they’re close to you.

⚠️ Action:

If one person is above the system —

soon, no one will respect the system.

3. The “Negative energy” type

This person is always complaining.

Blaming others. Pulling others down. And worst of all —

they spread that energy to the rest of the team.

⚠️ Action:

One bad apple spoils the whole basket.

Don’t let culture suffer because of one person.

I know, letting go is tough.

You may have history. You may have guilt.

But let me ask you honestly —

What’s it costing you to keep them?

Your energy?

Your time?

Your business growth?

Think about it...

Tomorrow’s dream?

πŸ‘‰ Delegate 80% of your daily work — and finally breathe easy.

Here’s the dream, right?

- Your team is performing.

- Things are getting done.

- You’re not getting 82 calls a day asking “Ab kya karna hai?”

And your biggest win is...

You’re out of the chaos!

That’s what today’s email is about.

How to delegate 80% of your daily work — without any drama. And no, this isn’t about "dumping your to-do list" on someone else.

This is about building a system… where you don’t have to do everything.

Here’s what I did in my own business:

Step 1: Assign Functional Ownership

Split your business into 7 key areas:

Sales, Marketing, Operations, Accounts, HR, Admin, Management.

Now give clear ownership of each area.

Not “we’ll both handle it”...

One person = One function.

So there’s no confusion.

Step 2: Give Decision-Making Power

If you’ve assigned Sales to someone — stop making every decision for them. If they keep checking with you for every small thing... you’ll be stuck in the same loop.

Let them take calls. Let them make mistakes.

That’s how they grow.

Step 3: Set a Weekly Review Rhythm

Don’t disappear completely.

Have a 30-minute weekly check-in for each function.

Ask 3 simple questions:

What’s working?

What’s stuck?

What’s next?

That’s it.

You’ll get updates. They’ll get support.

And you won’t have to micromanage anyone.

This is what I did when I realised:

“I’ve built a team…

But I’m still running around like I’m a one-man army.”

And slowly…

I got my peace of mind back.

I could think clearly.

Plan long-term.

Even take a day off without 16 missed calls.

That’s the power of smart delegation.

If you want to set this up in your business —

πŸ‘‰ I show you exactly how in my 40-minute FREE training.

Systems, roles, reviews — everything broken down.

The reason your business is not growing... is YOU.

No, not because you don’t "work hard".

In fact it's the opposite.

It's because you work TOO MUCH! You’re doing things every day that you should’ve stopped doing long back.

And the worst part is...

You’re actually good at those things.

So you justify it by saying:

- “I’ll do it better”

- “It’s faster if I handle it”

- “My team isn’t ready for this yet”

I see that shy smile on your face, Meera! πŸ˜‰

Trust me, it's not just you... I’ve heard this from 1000+ business owners.

Even I used to say the same things... (yes, guilty!)

Truth is πŸ‘‡πŸ»

If you’re doing these 5 things yourself — your business is NOT GROWING because of YOU!

1. Following up with leads

Stop calling and messaging leads personally. 🀦🏻‍♂️

Your job is to grow the business — NOT be your own sales rep!

Instead, build a small sales team. Train them once. Done.

2. Handling customer complaints

If every client issue needs your intervention… you’ve built a FRAGILE business!

Instead, build a CX team, train them... and see them solve 80% of problems without you.

3. Designing social media posts

Acha lagta hai, I get it.

But this is NOT your job. Delete that Canva app from your phone right now!

Instead, hire a freelancer or get a content system in place.

4. Approving every ₹300 expense

Still checking every vendor payment? Taxi receipt? OH GOD!

PLEASE - Set a simple finance tracker. Give limits. Review once a week.

5. Admin work (stock checks, cab bookings, travel)

You’re not a coordinator. You’re the BUSINESS OWNER.

So... Get help. Free up your mind. I know this is not easy to hear. But I’m not here to sugarcoat.

Till then —

If you want to build the right team, with clear roles and no drama...

18 years of building businesses - Here's what I've learnt:

1) Value you give >>>> the money you charge.

If the value you give = the money you charge, customers have an option to keep their money and you'll be left with your product which is certainly not good for the business.

So give more and make it compelling for the customers to work with you.

2) Make your team win

I make my team win and let them know I’ve got their back. It doesn't matter if they make mistakes or don't achieve their targets, when they feel supported, they step up and take ownership.

If I make them win, they will make my customers win and thus the business wins.

3) Always a giver but have boundaries.

Yes, I come to give love, care, and respect generously in any relationship but I also know where to draw the boundary and protect myself.

4) Doubts, fears, and insecurities will always be there...

When I didn't have the money, I had doubts and fears. When the money grows, doubts and fears grow along with it.

They don’t go away and that’s okay... Cherish them.

5) Pain of growth over comfort zone

Growth is stressful. You won't have the resources, time and money but you'll have to stretch and take action instead of settling down for less.

6) Fundamentals over fundas of the world

I learnt to cut the noise in the media and just focus on building the fundamentals.

  • Profits over funding.
  • Value addition over vanity metrics.

7) And last but not least...every business is a leadership factory

Stop being insecure of building leaders. Empower people and build capabilities in them.

Your success completely depends on the number of leaders you build in your business.
