Are Marriages Made In Heaven?

Have you ever wondered? Are Marriages Made In Heaven?

Chinua Achebe, the prominent Nigerian novelist and essayist said in an 1994 interview with the Paris Review, titled ‘The Art of Fiction No. 139’ :

“ There is that great proverb—that until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter. That did not come to me until much later. Once I realized that, I had to be a writer. I had to be that historian. It’s not one man’s job. It’s not one person’s job. But it is something we have to do, so that the story of the hunt will also reflect the agony, the travail – the bravery, even of the lions."

World is made up of stories, everywhere, everytime there is a new one. Write is right, soar to new height. With head, heart and hands in sync.

Basically I am a person who like to Read, Analyise, Observe and Dream.  There have been various stories around marriages that I have come across, including those which some of my friends wanted the world to know, so that people are aware and carefull and do not let that be repeated.  My humble attempt in bringing out few of such stories put together into a single story is what I have tried to do.

It is a simple read, a novella of around 23000 words, about a group of friends, from school and how their life unfold. Do they all get married?  What are their thoughts and views about marriage and what do they do about it, is what this book is all about.

Am excited, I would like you to be the first to give me a testimony or review, drop me an email at marriagesmadeinheaven@yahoo.com

Reviews and Feedbacks

1. Congratulation n best wishes Meera for your brave n auspicious attempt to write such a book on traditional but. Controversial subject n made it on open forum....

...with heartfelt wishes again n again...🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

2.  My my my Meera. To be able to think, organise your thoughts, and then write it in itself is a super achievement, and then to publish it and get it out, that's a super duper achievement. So happy and proud of you. Congratulations.

3.  It should have been: "On marriage, TO do or (k)not to DO, is the question....". Also it should have been: "Is IT A DAMSEL'S destiny or a result...?".

4. Hey Meera,  this is superb. Congratulations and best wishes for your book. And what a great time to publish when the second season of Made in Heaven is out. Capitalise on it. All the bestπŸ™Œ

1. First book was received by Leena.

Just received a copy of your book, and finished reading the author's note. Love it and look forward to reading the book. The layout is beautiful, almost perfect.  Bolded for names, and very good paragraph spacing as well.  Started with a bang πŸ‘πŸ‘ First book itself is very good..

Finished reading the book:) like the message of the NGO work. It's not something that many people talk about. Glad you have brought it upπŸ‘πŸ‘

Short and crisp story telling to drive the message. Look forward to longer format stories as well from you:) would love to read them

I would have been more interested in learning how Meena managed to turn around her marriage. All others seemed tobe happily married, while Meena had to put in more effort.

Some additional insight and incidents from her married life to drive the importance of partnership would have been interesting.

As Jisha said it's in really simple language made me interesting to keep reading. Some moments brought tears and cried out. There were some delighted moments too, enjoyed it.

I loved the dedication of book.., loved the thank you notes.Everything was well placed and didn't find any flaws . The speed of development in each charters life was also good and fitted well in the book. I got visual feel as I am watching a web series or a movie.

I feel proud of you dear... Keep writing!

I felt its more than marriage. Friendship, family ups n down..I felt it has everything. Family, parents, love, friendship and marriage

I never thought book reading is not so difficultπŸ˜„πŸ˜„ I will send you a feedback in detail soon. But want to let you know that I loved it fully. 😊

Meerabai, I m sure it's going to be a great one.

Went through the first two pages, your writing resembles Sudha Murthy's....so simple, logical and down to earth.

Completed ur novel well firstly I would call it the perfect guide to marriage ❤️such a well explained novel with all critical aspects of a marriage and the uniqueness in each marriage and secondly I felt the story to be more practical and more than a regular work of fiction. Thirdly the there were subtle twists throughout the story how each character self develops as the story progresses

If I may point out one more small thing I quite got confused at times between what each person's story or character is but as the story ended I was familiar so that is not a major issue

Overall a very very very lovely well written first work of fiction

Wishing you very best of luck for more works like this

And to tell personally now🀣🀣🀣At this stage of my life where parents are starting to look for alliance for me and in the confused state of mind I was or am in regarding marriage, this book came to my rescue to a great extent for its practicality and the way of calling a spade a spadeπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Special thanks for that.

Really enjoyed all the characters and their life stories and situations. Almost felt like I was sitting along with them while the conversations were on.

Plus I felt I had went through a lot of introspection as I was reading through and several life circumstances which I have personally faced a d tried to tide over.

If you really have these set of friends, I would say you are the luckiest person on earth, because most women lose their friends after marriage. There is none to confide in or share some of their big or smallest issues in day to day life.

I also wish I could make a dent to the lives of girls/women like Bubli who could not see the beautiful side of life.

Dear Mee

Have been meaning to write to you , but wanted to do that sitting down than just some one liners

First of all kudos to you for putting in the effort to get a book published. From the read , I could see the amount of research you had done to state the facts and statements right .

Written in a simple way for anyone to perceive , you touched upon everything and anything . For example , India you covered few cities highlighting their importance and places to visit. You touched upon history from far back to what has recently happened . You grazed on the mythical part and how the culture and traditions are formed . You even touched upon sensitive topic like gender independence and identity . Many many things !

It was interesting to see , how you started with the characters, then unfolded into their lives and how it all finally came into the society part and how you blended it with title. Nicely done .

I had a good time reading it Keep doing what you enjoy and love it . Happiness humesha like you always say 😊

The light in me honors the light in you 😊 .

GG

The Reunion part ...it was more of a monologe / dialouges . It would have been nice if that was also like the last or first part. And I didnt like this meena lady ....he he..She is too righteous....I personally like people with flaws...

Hi Meera,

My sister Saroja S. Acharya sent me a copy of your book, 'Are marriages made in heaven?'.  I generally read quite a bit.

The idea of marriage counselling is probably as old as the institution of 'marriage' itself, but the idea of launching an organization like "Heavenly Marriages" is fresh.

I understand that this is your first published book.  I think extensive reading is very important, especially for an author.

Do keep writing. Wishing you all the best for your future projects!

Regards,
Sangamesh.
