The Wizard of OZ By L. Frank Baum; which was made into a Hollywood movie, and is also part of Broadway shows.
The story unfords in the Kansas Prairie. Dorothy lived in a small house that was in the middle of dry Kansas Prairie. She lived with Uncle Henry, a farmer and aunt EM along with her dear pet ‘Toto’ the dog. One day as Dorothy stood in the door with Toto in her arms, they heard a low wail of the wind and the long grass rippled before the coming ‘Twister’ – The Cyclone.
Cyclone subsides, Dorothy to her surprise, finds herself in the middle of the beautiful land – ‘The Munchkin city’.
Ginda the good fairy of the north appears and declares Dorothy as the sorceress of the Munchkin city and hands her the magic shoes of the witch of the wast, saying “Dorathy you put an end to the cruel witch of the east.” Dorathy requests Glinda to help her get back to Kansas Prairie. Glinda tells her –‘Go to the Emerald City. Meet the Oz. He will help you.”
Dorathy on her way meets ‘Scarecrow’ in the beautiful cornfield.
Dorothy meets ‘Tinman’ – a man made entirely on tin and cowardly ‘Lion’.
All the five friends off they go, at last they reach ‘the poppy field’.
In the poppy field they meet the queen mouse and her friends who guide Dorothy and her friends towards the Emerald city.
Dorothy and her friends finally reach ‘The Emerald City’ and meet Oz –Oz promises to help Dorothy on one condition – ‘Kill the witch of the west and hand me her broom’. So off they sent off to fulfil the mission.
Dorothy and her friends set off towards the castle of the witch of the west..in the middle of their journey, all five are seen being kidnapped by the winkies the winged monkeys –the slaves of The Black Witch.
Dorothy puts an end to the wicked witch of the west. All were freed from the shackles of the witch. OZ keeps his promise. Glinda guides reach Kansas Prairie.
