This is a single tree, spread over 4.67 acres of land, 80 feet tall and over 250 years old at Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden in Shibpur, Howrah, Kolkata.
The main trunk of it doesn't exist anymore, it's the largest ever growing beyond the fencing & this Banyan tree is in the Guinness Book of World Records. It's a lovely place and gives you soothing effect. It is at Botanical Garden, so for those interested there are other attractions too covering various states and countries, lakes and lands though this banyan tree is main attraction.
There are two gates to the Garden, if you do not want to walk for almost an hour if you are a slow walker, you can get in through Gate No. 2 opposite Petrol pump and the Banyan tree is almost 250 meters from there, you do not see this view from there but the side view.
