Hamara Bajaj - Rahul Bajaj

Veteran industrialist and the Chairman Emeritus of the Bajaj group, Shri. Rahul Bajaj has passed away at the age of 83.



Born on June 10th, 1938, Shri. Rahul Bajaj graduated from St. Stephen's College at Delhi in 1958 and also earned a degree in law from Bombay University. Post the same, he went on to pursue MBA from Harvard Business School in the US and became CEO of Bajaj Auto in 1968. A former Rajya Sabha member, Shri. Rahul Bajaj was also awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, in 2001.

As the chairman of the Bajaj group for over 4 decades, an iconic legend and visionary with tremendous courage, Shri. Rahul Bajaj has been credited with making the brand Bajaj, a household name by building a world-class empire.

Shri. Rahul Bajaj lived an extraordinary life - He was the architect of one of the most respected business houses in the country, a vocal proponent of entrepreneurship, and a voice of the industry at large.

He stood for what he believed, a man driven by values, and bold in both expression and action. He was the torchbearer of the family legacy that dates back to the founding days of our country and championed the creation of a new India. While his passing away has left a void amongst us, he leaves behind an unparalleled foundation for all of us to build upon.


With tributes pouring in from across the world, this is a huge loss to the business community at large - our thoughts and prayers are with everyone he has touched, inspired, or influenced.

While Shri. Rahul Bajaj has departed the mortal world, he lives on in the hearts & minds of millions with the eternally iconic chant - Hamara Bajaj.
