Greek Mythology - Tanush Menon

My 111th of 2021 was an introduction into Greek Mythology by Tanush Menon. Could not read any of them, but was amazed of the number of books on this subject he had read at such young age.

In the picture you will find, Demeter - God of agriculture; Poseidon - God of water; Athena - God of wisdom and warcraft; Hephastus- God of craftsman; Zeus - god of thunder and sky and king of gods ; Artemis- god of hunting and moon; Hermes - god of messenger ; Apollo - God of hunting (male) , god of music and god of sun; Ares- god of war.

Not in the pic. but prominent ones are:

Dionysus - god of wine ;Aphrodite - god of love; Hera - God of mothers and wife of zeus (queen of the universe)

Before Gods there were Titans and mother of all God is Rhea.

Not only did he introduce me to the world of Greek Mythology but also to the author, Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson and the Greek Heros.

All these, flew above my head and for all these to make sense he gave me the book of comparative  analysis by Devdutt Pattanaik

This basically narrates in relation to Alexander.

Modern activism has deep roots in Greek Mythology,  where Gods and heroes constantly challenge authority, fight monsters,  and strive to restore order in a chaotic world.

Unlike activists, however  the ancient Greeks believed in the fates and prophecies. Unlike Christians they believed in many Gods and unlike Hindus they believed in one life with an after life in a land beyond the river Styx.

This book explores the Greek mythology by comparing it with Indian.

Interesting to know how they progressed,  who could marry whom. And how Titans, the once most powerful were overpowered by God's and they by men. As some believe.

Thanks a ton to Tanush beta. More power to you. Continue being you. God bless you.
