Every other person, we talk to ask " Have you Watched the movie Contagion" ; most messages that we receive have a mention of this. So thought why not see it. The movies 'GENRES' said Suspense/Thriller, Drama; but today it's a reality. Aiken to the current situation, this movie is about how Healthcare professionals, government officials and everyday people find themselves in the midst of a pandemic as the CDC works to find a cure. It seems Medical experts worked on Contagion to make sure it was scientifically accurate. The movie shows us how to prepare Social distancing, isolation and quarantine are all not new terms if you’re familiar with Contagion. Scientists predicted the reality of a deadly pandemic While working on the film, scientific advisors were certain that a pandemic like the one that played out in Contagion could become a huge reality. After all, the film is based on the outbreak of SARs in 2002 and Swine Flu in 2009. Professor Ian Lipkin designed every detail of Steven Soderbergh's fictional virus. And he's sorry it's so accurate. At Columbia University in New York, W Ian Lipkin is a professor of epidemiology, neurology and pathology. The first is, roughly, the study of how diseases move; the last, their causes and effects.
The 2011 film "Contagion" directed by Steven Soderbergh, opens to the sound of a woman heavy coughing and full of mucous. Returning from a business trip in Hong Kong, Beth Emhoff has a layover in Chicago and meets a former lover for sex. Two days later, in her family home in suburban Minneapolis, she collapses with seizures. Her husband, Mitch Emhoff, rushes her to the hospital, but she dies of an unknown cause. Mitch returns home and finds that his stepson Clark has died from a similar disease. Mitch is put in isolation but is found to be immune; he is released and returns home to his teenage daughter Jory. The death of Beth Emhoff and her son leads to the discovery of a deadly virus. While the US Centers for Disease Control struggles to curb its spread, a worldwide panic ensues. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. Cast included Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard and nominees Jude Law and Laurence Fishburne portray the dedicated doctors at the CDC and World Health Organization who rush to contain the outbreak of a new virus.
The movie points to the many dedicated health professionals who put everything on the line to try to protect us. Humanity’s propensity for compassion and self-sacrifice is heralded over and over. The invisible world of germ is far from controllable. A single handshake or just by simply touching anything around you can send you spiraling down to the verge of your extinction. Until of course a vaccine is developed.
Mrs Doubtfire
Had not seen this before, and felt an admiration for Mrs. Doubtfire, when this movie was being played in Romedy now; that is when HD said, AvaiShanmugi was a remake of this. Only then did it strike, that Mrs. Doubtfire was a male. A 1993 American comedy-drama film directed by Chris Columbus. It was written for the screen by Randi Mayem Singer and Leslie Dixon, based on the novel Alias Madame Doubtfire by Anne Fine. Directed by Chris Colombus, Daniel, a divorced actor, disguises himself as Mrs Doubtfire, an ageing female Scottish housekeeper, in order to work in his ex-wife's house and spend more time with his three children all of them love her(him). Apart from humour and brilliant performance by Robin williams, this is a thought provoking movie for young parents who set their values in different order where children unfortunately do not find place in the top slot. Career and money are necessary evils ; but not at the cost of one's young children. A good watch for people of all ages. You can watch it anytime!
