What can we do to ensure bias don't sweep in? If it was easy to correct, it would have been solved ages ago. The Culper spy - Movie. Passionately believed in commitment. Great movie, highlighted history, and We are responsible for changing society, and if we cannot defend and speak up, we cannot expect others to do it for us. Women need to vocalize and speak more. Most of us have imposture syndrome and we put up with it.
How do we balance work and life? A successful balance is a myth. The word success is different for different people. Its a journey, a hard one. You need to find the small steps and get to do it. The opportunity is women's - we have the power of choice to choose the job we want or remain at home. That is the empowerment we have been given, no one owns anyone, it is for us to create it. It's lot of hard work and effort.
Skills needed is - List making, Listening, Leadership is a big term, and every one leads in one form or the other, it's that we evolve.
Chivalry and women have nothing to do in common. It's a quality you need to have. All should be equally respected. People come in with an uncommon bias. Chivalry comes from listening, even if the other person is wrong.
We all feel low and have our hardship. Know your purpose, and big picture, and realize low moments are temporary, and ask for help. Everything will pass. Big picture and purpose is important. Be self aware and work to be better. Its important to be vulnerable. Trust is important, and have network that don't judge you. How we are educated and how we have been brought up, help us cope with failure. Our competitive nature comes to work environment. Fundamentally women hold themselves for accountable, so it's important to get others opinion.
You might not be best at everything, but have fun, work hard, and understand the situation and get best from the team. Understand what make you tick. If you know what makes your tick, and you can influence around you, then as a team you can crack solutions. Women are bad at admitting when money is important. It's all about being confident to be brave.
What can we do to build each other up? When Women come after break, or is unsure if they should come back, give them the support. Keep in touch day.
What do you do, to grow as a leader? Listen a lot more, though talk as well. Go all the way down, help understand others. Mentoring help learn and be connected, not just the mentee is benefited but the mentor as well. Keep open mind, have ideas alive, understand what you like and how things are changing. Give room for other to grow, share love, understanding and grow with each other. Sometime you have to bite your tongue and keep going, sometime people because of their prejudice or lack of confidence, which is a problem with them, try to show you down.
