Around The world in 2153 by Sudeepa Nair

Around The world in 2153 by Sudeepa Nair; the Author's not begin with the quote by  Day Lewis " We do not write to be understood. We write in order to understand". 49th of 2021

A person is the sum of their experiences, beliefs, prejudice, and biases. We often confuse this sum to represent the other, forgetting that their experience and thoughts would be as unique as ours. To understand the others we are forced to push the boundaries of our knowledge.

Fiction helps to expand our  understanding of what is. But Science and technology can be strong allies to help us imagine what could be. When one combines the two, it creates a world with limitless possibilities.

It's a thrilling ride, as we follow the Madam CF-in-waiting to fugitive Sia around the world in the Earth Year 2153. The Interplanetary Peacekeeping Force wants a report about Earth's situation before the Non-Residential Earthlings from Mars travel back to their planet. It would be dangerous if the Earthlings start a fight again. Gavalson is working on it, rediscovering the Earth through the eyes of Sia. The Interplanetary Commission had requested the nations to rank themselves against the Progressive Development Index so that NREs could conduct a proper assessment of their destinations when they return.    In the Earth year 2153, only five nations survive on the planet. Devastating floods and moving landmasses have changed the geological map and geopolitical relationships.

Twenty-three-year-old Sia, the leader-in-waiting of Jambudesh, grew up in an orphanage and is mentored from a young age to lead the nation. Eager to prove herself, she embarks on her first international trip to discuss an issue of global importance. She had Esso (Surveillance Officer,S.O.) for company. Who briefed her well on everything instructed.  But the Jambudeshi authorities soon declare her a traitor. "Janbudeshi CF-in -waiting found guilty of using a banned hieroglyphic script,". In that country Foreign books are like invaders, they will invade our minds and make us unpatriotic. There was uniformity in how Jambudeshis lived.

Enraged by her sudden fall from grace, she doubles her efforts to find her parents based on a cryptic anonymous note. As she deciphers the clues, she runs from one nation to another, travelling from Jambudesh to the Consortium of Liberal Counties (CLC), Bajeelen, Technoland, and Verdemia.

With a serviceman turned rebel, Vikram, for company, Sia races around the world as a fugitive, experiencing strange innovations and mind-blowing transportation systems. With all the modern inventions, people are unable to build something that will protect common man from the hurricanes.

Will Sia find her parents before a failed technological experiment takes away her will to survive?
