For Finance Professionals in India

Here's something that I thought will be useful for finance professionals in India: hashtag#FinanceWrapIndia hashtag#LIPostingChallengeIndia hashtag#LinkedInNewsIndia

(Posted in linkedin)

Three decades ago, we celebrated when the Trial Balance, and Balance sheet tallied. We would manually write Journal Entries, Post them into Ledgers, create Trial Balance and Balance Sheet. A typical accounting office was filled with books, papers, files and dust.

With Technology, and ERP's in place, slowly, things started getting automated, and the number of books and papers around started reducing. Office became partially paperless; outsourcing, offshoring, and shared services started becoming very popular. ERP's like JD Edward, SAP, Oracle, People soft took care of Accounting, there were Data storage systems like Hyperion, Crest etc. and reporting tools like COGNOS, Essbase. This enabled moving activities to a central location, as businesses started growing global and so was born shared service centre.

I ) Shared Service Centre's (SSC):

SSCs focus grew from cost reduction to best-in-class unit within an organization.

II) Outsourcing: Make or Buy:

Examining the relevant costs of keeping activities in-house versus outsourcing, organisations capitalise on the expertise of another company that is more efficient, effective, or knowledgeable at performing a specialized task that is peripheral to the firm's core business competencies which help them to focus on strategic revenue-generating activities. We have global firms, providing specialized services in implementing new technology, managing change, even for the Finance and Accounts activities both onshore and offsite, rendering the book closure with improved quality and timeliness. This do come with knowledge "give-away", confidentiality issues, limited flexibility, reduced quality control and lessened process control to name a few.

Rule of the Thumb - If you are not from IT, do not invest in IT; outsource.

III) Changing Technology - Upgrade:

Boards expect CFOs to become strategic partners supporting enterprise strategy and driving growth while managing risk and compliance, market volatility, and creative destruction. Ones who embrace new ways of working. F&A teams across industries are combining digital technologies and analytics with new skills and capabilities to turn finance into a strategic partner. This empowers workforce, rethinks compliance, and delivers accurate forecasts and performance insights that shape business decisions.

Digital and Analytics, Business process automation and robotics, Machine languages help access state of the art techniques. Today, AI can review large data sets to connect the dots, identify patterns, easily produce results and new intelligence. F&A teams can use the analysis and insight to get better outcomes. This is augmented intelligence. Robotic process automation (RPA) is effective at rules-based.

With easy access to intuitive technology at home, a workplace with outdated, clunky systems will not stay.

Deep

Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth. – Marcus Aurelius

Once upon a time Marcus Aurelius said this.

Our understanding of events and situations is filtered through our personal biases, experiences and interpretations. This reminds us to question and seek a deeper understanding, rather than accepting things at face value.

The older I get the more I realize that everything really is deep. Yes everything.  Nothing should be taken lightly.

Mind you not serious,  not intense but deep. You are the average of the 5 people that you surround yourself with. It happens knowingly or unknowingly.  Cause it gets deep . It could be your family, friends, relatives, schoolmates, Co travelers,  people you confide in, your colleagues.

What you watch, what you eat, what you consume,  what you wear, all of it have a deep impact on you. What you do with your mobile, in your free time, how you keep yourself busy, what you read, where you travel.

It's all very deep, you agree or not and should not be taken lightly.

All these effect our health, wealth, living, life.

This hit real hard recently when a friend's son committed suicide.

We most likely all have some understanding, at least, of the meaning of the concept behind the saying "perception is reality". However, how many of us are truly aware of "how" this "perception vs reality concept" actually plays out in our daily lives? Perceptions strongly influence our thinking, attitudes, decisions and actions and an idea of the importance of ones "perceptions" in the scheme of things can be gleaned by the use of the word "everything" that Marcus Aurelius chose to use in the above quote. It seems Marcus Aurelius was a fairly smart individual and some things have not changed from that day till this. Your perceptions are in fact your reality and your perceptions do in fact influence everything!

Often in our busy lives we run largely on auto pilot viewing the world before us through our own set of personal filters (our filters are made up of our experiences, beliefs and values and filters are what create our perceptions) and we see things the way we see them because that's the way we see them! And, the way we see things effects our thinking, attitudes, decisions and actions! Now, if this is starting to sound like "goblty gook" then understand that hidden within the "goblty gook" is the answer of the perception vs reality riddle.

You see, as a business coach I often work with business owners just like you to help them "see things, people, situations, problems, opportunities, decisions, ideas etc, etc from a different point of view". This change in view point creates a different perspective... which enables a different perception... which creates a different understanding of what might be the reality... which affects what we might think and or decide to do next.

Next time you are grappling with something or stuck or unsure or frustrated try shifting/changing/altering your point of view and try looking at the problem or issue from different ways/angles/attitudes with different outcomes in mind or in specific ways etc - you will be absolutely amazed at how your view of reality will change when you change your perception by changing your point of view.

In the tapestry of existence, let us hold these words close. Let us approach information with discernment and cultivate an openness to alternative viewpoints. Let us seek not only the comfort of our own beliefs but the broader panorama of perspectives that shape our understanding. 🌅🌐

In a world brimming with information, let us navigate with a discerning eye and an attentive ear. Let us embrace the idea that our perception is not a fixed reality, but a dynamic interpretation shaped by our experiences and beliefs. 🌠💡

As we journey forward, may we carry with us the understanding that the truth is often a mosaic of perspectives and that wisdom lies in our willingness to explore and question. It is an invitation to approach the world with curiosity and humility. 🚀🌟

While on campaign between 170 and 180, Marcus wrote his Meditations in Greek as a source for his own guidance and self-improvement. The original title of this work, if it had one, is unknown. 'Meditations' – as well as other titles including 'To Himself' – were adopted later. He had a logical mind, and his notes were representative of Stoic philosophy and spirituality. Meditations is still revered as a literary monument to a government of service and duty.

Everything Happens for a Reason - Sarvasyapi Bhavatu

Do you believe or agree that:

Whatever has happened has happened for good,
Whatever is happening is happening for good,
Whatever will happen will happen for good.

It also indicates that all events are connected to and are impacted by factors by some earlier circumstance and will lead to subsequent events.

Is'nt a new year like that?

Raincot

Raincoat is a 2004 Indian drama film directed by Rituparno Ghosh, an adaptation of two short stories- Protihingsha (by Manoj Basu) and The Gift of the Magi (by O. Henry).

Manoj (Ajay Devgan) is a country man with very little money who lives in Bhagalpur has recently lost his job and ventures to start a business of his own. He goes to the city to see if he can arrange some money. While there, he stays with two friends, Alok and Sheela (Mouli Ganguly), who are very helpful in his desperate quest to find money. Alok makes some phone calls and writes a letter for him to send to his former classmates. The letter explains Manoj's plight, and asks for any money to spare. Manoj, ashamed, tells Alok to forget the letter and that he will go out the next day and ask for money personally.

The next morning, Alok tells about his career. He has gotten quite wealthy as a producer for TV serials. Also, as a part of a diet, he has Herbalife for breakfast. Manoj asks Alok about an address that he plans to stop at while looking for money that day, and the address turns out to be of a woman that Manoj was supposed to marry, but married another. Alok remembers what he had to go through to get Manoj over her, and insists he not go there and upset himself. Sheela tells Alok not to get so angry, and let Manoj go where he pleases. The woman is supposed to be quite wealthy, and Manoj hopes not only to see her again (for the first time since her marriage), but perhaps to get some money as well. Alok finally backs off.

To prepare Manoj for his journey out in the pouring rain, Alok gives him an address book of the people he may be able to collect money from, while Sheela gives Manoj a mobile phone, teaches him to use it, and a raincoat to keep him dry. On his journey, Manoj manages to collect 12,000 rupees before stopping at the home of his lost love, Neerja (Aishwarya Rai). Being there, he gets a memory of being a doorstep before, when they were together and happy, but is interrupted by Neerja's voice. She doesn't believe it is really him at first, and takes quite a while to open the door. When she does, she tells him that she fell asleep, and warmly invites him to stay and sit until the rain stops. There is no one home. Neerja's husband is away, and the servants are out playing cards.

While sitting, she tells him that he has changed. His hair is missing, he's gotten dark and lost weight. He asks for her to switch on a light so he can see her better, because she does not look well, and she leaves, but forbids him to follow her in the rest of the house. She brings the light, and shows her face, free of bruises or black eyes, and assures him that her husband really loves her. He asks her why she wears such an expensive sari around the house, and she says it would just sit there otherwise, since she never leaves the house. Neerja is very paranoid. She never opens the door for fear of burglars in her dangerous town coming to invade her wealthy home. She says her husband is away to Japan on business and offered her to come, but refused because of a fear of being locked in a bathroom and not knowing English. Manoj laughs and tells her she hasn't changed a bit.

The doorbell soon rings and Manoj insists on answering it. Neerja gets very afraid and urges him to let it be because she doesn't want to be seen home alone with another man while her husband is away and for word to get to him. He starts to answer the door anyway and she gets very upset, so he sits down. Manoj has a flashback of him getting very sick when he hears of Neerja's marriage. He was still very much in love with her at the time.

Later, Neerja asks what Manoj does for a living and he says that he produces serials. In fact, he is the owner of the company. He tells her that he and his mother live in a two-story apartment and that she should visit some time. Of course, this is far from true, he has a flashback of him bringing his mother a portable toilet, just so she won't have to walk far to use it. Neerja asks if he is married, and he hints that his mother has a girl set up. Neerja doesn't seem pleased.

Another flashback reveals that, although very sick from a fever, Manoj had an outburst about Neerja's engagement, demanding it be broken off. He tells her that he can support her, he'll find a way. Back in the present, Sheela calls him on his mobile to see how he is and if he has eaten. When Neerja asks who it was he says that it his is secretary. Neerja asks about her looks and her knowledge, and when Manoj tells her she's pretty and fluent in English she becomes jealous. She accuses him of flirting when she asked if he has eaten, then realizes she has neglected to feed him. He says that there's no need and he takes Herbalife, but she insists on going out to get him food, for the food in the house she doesn't think he'll like. She tells him to answer the door for no one, takes his raincoat and leaves.

While she is gone, he has a flashback of her engagement, and him begging her one last time not to marry, and to stay with him. It is interrupted by a man at the window, begging to be let in to use the bathroom. Manoj reluctantly lets him in, but after he uses it he refuses to leave. Suspicious, Manoj confronts him and he reveals that he is the landlord. The landlord mistakes Manoj to be a renter of the space, and Manoj asks him why a couple so rich would need to rent. The landlord then reveals that Neerja and her husband are not rich at all. In fact, they are close to being evicted from their home for lack of paying rent. The landlord even shows Manoj the bathroom, which he was refused access to, and sees how empty and dirty it is...like the bathroom of a very poor family. He is confused, for he remembers when Neerja got married, the wedding was very expensive and her husband has an very nice job. The landlord reveals that he lost it in a scam, and has been a conman ever since, scamming others for money, the reason he is not home. And the reason Neerja never opens the door is for fear of bill-collectors and those who want to throw them out of their home. Very alarmed, Manoj gives the landlord the 12,000 rupees he had collected to pay three months' rent and makes the man promise not to throw her out immediately. And to call him if he ever does reach such a decision. The landlord leaves.

Manoj writes her a letter telling her that he now knows the truth and what he has done to help her. He also says that had they been married, he would have done so anyway. He puts the letter under a sofa cover. Neerja returns and says that the shopkeeper was sleeping and she had to wake him up, which is why she took so long. He eats the food she brought and continues to lie about his profession and lifestyle while she grows upset. She says that she feels trapped in the house and that she wants to go far away, even if she gets stuck in the airplane bathroom. Manoj says that even if that were to happen, someone like him would be there to let her out. She doesn't want to be given false hope and starts to cry. He comforts her and she sits down and continues to ask about his business. She also tells him that they are going to be moving into a bigger house and that he should come to visit when he returns. He eventually asks to wash his hands after eating and, once again, she refuses him to see the rest of the house and goes to get him a finger bowl. He rinses off his hands and wipes them on the sofa cover, which Neerja scolds him for. He apologizes and he tells her to have it washed.

Manoj returns to Alok and Sheela, and Alok is quite upset to hear that Manoj managed to lose all of the money he collected, but Sheela calms him down. Before Manoj goes to sleep that night, Sheela comes into his room to give him a letter she said she found in the pocket of the raincoat. In the envelope are golden bangles along with a letter. Confused, Manoj reads the letter which is from Neerja, saying that she is glad he let her borrow the raincoat that day, because she found the letter in the pocket of it, the letter begging his friends for the money he came to Calcutta for. She scolds him for not telling her his troubles, but tells him that she's giving him her jewelry to help him out. She says that if they had gotten married instead, he never would have refused to take her jewelry.

A Single Rose ~ Barbery Muriel (2/24)

A Single Rose by Barbery Muriel is indeed a poetry in the form of prose from beginning to end. A lovesong to the beauty of Japanese gardens.

Rose has turned 40, but has barely begun to live. When the Japanese father she never knew dies and she finds herself an orphan, she leaves France for Kyoto to hear the reading of his will.

In the days before Haru’s last wishes are revealed, his former assistant, Paul, takes Rose on a tour of the temples, gardens and eating places of this unfamiliar city. Initially a reluctant tourist and awkward guest in her late father’s home, Rose gradually comes to discover Haru’s legacy through the itinerary he set for her, finding gifts greater than she had ever imagined.

This stunning novel from international bestseller Muriel Barbery is a mesmerizing story of second chances, of beauty born out of grief and roses grown from ashes.

The language and the wisdom packed into this novella are extraordinary. There is very little story, but who needs story when what is told is told so well and translated so well? (The original is in French.)

Here are a few samples:

"In return for this indifference to misfortune, they harvest these gardens where the gods come for tea." p. 21

"If a person is not prepared to suffer... they are not prepared to live." p. 21

"...the years were passing, and the icy water of her nightmares, a black water in which she was slowly drowning, gradually came to dominate her days." p. 25

"... he had a slight limp, and it was to this condition that she attributed the way he glided through the world like a fish in a river, creating fluidity from something broken." p. 30

"the world had gone to hide in this patch of sand and circle." p. 38

"... in this world we walk on the roof of hell gazing at flowers." p. 39

"the line that separates water from earth, the line between water and sky: floating lines, sketching a virgin territory with neither wind nor heat, neither ice nor bird-son, an enclave where matter dissolved into the void." p. 49

"... she felt she could lose herself in this vanished way of life." p. 52

"What is it that you like about Japan?... The poetry and the clear-sighted drunkards." p. 59

"Sayoko brought her a transparent umbrella. Rose opened it and liked the way she could see the world through the raindrops....for a moment she dreamed of living inside a full, enclosed raindrop, with no elsewhere and no history, no prospects and no desire." p. 6

"These gardens are melancholy transformed into joy, pain transmuted into pleasure. What you see here is hell turned to beauty." p. 67

"That tea this morning had almost no taste, and yet it tasted of everything... That's a good definition of Japan." pp. 68-69

"that year, one evening in June, Maud went to the river with her pockets full of stones and drowned in magnificent silence, after admiring the trees in the mirror of calm water." p.73

"The world is like a cherry tree one has not looked at for three days..." p. 131

Vazhakka Erissery (Kaya Erissery) | Raw Banana Curry

Vazhakka erissery is a delicious vegetarian curry served for sadyas in the olden times.

Ingredients

raw banana(ponthan kaya) 2

salt 1/2 tsp

turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

hot chilli powder 1/2 tsp

To grind

coconut grated 1/2 cup

cumin seeds (jeerakam) 1/2 tsp

shallots 4-5

garlic cloves 2-3

To temper

ghee 1 tbsp

mustard seeds 1 tsp

red dry chilly 2 broken

curry leaves 2 sprigs

grated coconut, 2 tbsp

Method

Wash and peel the skin of the raw bananas very nicely so that there is no green part seen (though it is said to retain the green part of the raw banana skin, but for this particular recipes it's better to peel off the green part completely). Add to a bowl of water and cut the banana in small pieces. Add rice cooked water (kanji vellam) and wash again to get rid of the thick sap.

Add the washed banana pieces to the cooker, add water (1 cup), salt, turmeric powder, hot chilli powder. Cover and pressure-cook for 3 whistles.

In the meantime, add grated coconut to a blender jar. To this add cumin seeds, garlic cloves, shallots and little water. Grind to a smooth paste (not very fine though), keep aside.

When pressure is released, mash the cooked bananas almost done. Add the ground paste, give a quick mix. Add 1/2 cup water to the blender jar and add to the curry.

Bring this mix to a boil, adjust salt if needed. Add more water if required to adjust consistency. This curry thickens on cooling, so add water accordingly.

Heat a pan or wok, add ghee to temper. When ghee is hot, add mustard seeds. Add red dry chillies and curry leaves. Add grated coconut and fry till golden brown. Switch off and pour over the prepared curry. Keep covered for 10 minutes, mix and serve warm.

NOTES

* You can use raw plantain too, but the ponthan kaya (raw banana) mashes well and tastes better, I feel for this curry.

* Adding ghee to temper imparts a unique flavour. You can use oil instead of ghee, too.

* Adding grated coconut to temper is very special in this curry, so don't miss doing that.

Pressure

New Year, First gift, BP Monitor.

To remind - Health is the first of life.

What a way to begin the year.

After the rituals, visiting aunt, and then checking pressure which turned out to be high...No wonder, was cranky.

Pressure is the force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed. Poor diet, lack of exercise and certain lifestyle factors can affect blood pressure pattern, including: Night-shift work. Smoking. Overweight or obesity.

Migraine like pain. But no vomiting or nausia, had one side severe headache, aversion to light, sound.

Learning about migraine disorder can be intimidating.

A migraine is a headache that can cause severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation, usually on one side of the head. It's often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine attacks can last for hours to days, and the pain can be so bad that it interferes with your daily activities.

For some people, a warning symptom known as an aura occurs before or with the headache. An aura can include visual disturbances, such as flashes of light or blind spots, or other disturbances, such as tingling on one side of the face or in an arm or leg and difficulty speaking.

Medications can help prevent some migraines and make them less painful. The right medicines, combined with self-help remedies and lifestyle changes, might help.

Migraine triggers

There are a number of migraine triggers, including:

Hormonal changes in women. Fluctuations in estrogen, such as before or during menstrual periods, pregnancy and menopause, seem to trigger headaches in many women.

Hormonal medications, such as oral contraceptives, also can worsen migraines. Some women, however, find that their migraines occur less often when taking these medications.

Drinks. These include alcohol, especially wine, and too much caffeine, such as coffee.

Stress. Stress at work or home can cause migraines.

Sensory stimuli. Bright or flashing lights can induce migraines, as can loud sounds. Strong smells — such as perfume, paint thinner, secondhand smoke and others — trigger migraines in some people.

Sleep changes. Missing sleep or getting too much sleep can trigger migraines in some people.

Physical strain. Intense physical exertion, including sexual activity, might provoke migraines.

Weather changes. A change of weather or barometric pressure can prompt a migraine.

Medications. Oral contraceptives and vasodilators, such as nitroglycerin, can aggravate migraines.

Foods. Aged cheeses and salty and processed foods might trigger migraines. So might skipping meals.

Food additives. These include the sweetener aspartame and the preservative monosodium glutamate (MSG), found in many foods.

Remember:

Today it is  privilege to be alive. Welcome the day with love and enthusiasm! Embrace the fact that every opportunity is yours and unconditional love follows you wherever you go.

Here I am.....Disney Princess

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v11f_bYOVt8

Listening to this today reminded me of the Disney Princess and the group...'Here I am.....'

Was reminded of the Disney Princess group and how Mili suggested that we must have a suedo name.

Her  suggestions were following:

Meera as Moana coz she's beautiful, compassionate, love her people, her roots and love to explore, intelligent, go getter and nature lover.

Gita as Elsa, the Princess of snow, who can command the weather, hero of her own story, glamourous, poised and dutiful yet moody. Neutral and seems cold hearted but is warm for all those who she loves.

Mili as Merida, Princess who is unruly, kind, short-tempered, rebellious, tomboyish, free spirited, brave, adventurous, strong willed, quick witted n headstrong.

Frozen I have seen...water has memories...I learnt from this movie. Visually very pleasant ....colors are soothing ...I loved it overall

"Believe in speak up before it's late...then it may be giving free non asked advise or expressing yourself. My mother always encouraged we all kids including my bhabhis to speak up atleast within family. So u will always find chaos loud type atmosphere in my house 😂😂"

Ikigai for Teens

Many of us would have heard and read the book 'Ikigai', but did you know there is a separate book for teens as well?

And it's like a prequel to the more well known book and the Japanese Secret for a long and happy life.

The people of Japan believe that everyone has an Ikigai - a reason to jump out of bed everymorning - Is Ikigai.

Iki = Life and Gai = Worth.

Co-written by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles based on their interviewing more than a 100 villagers from Okinawa where the inhabitants live longer than in any other place in the world.

Our Ikigai is hidden deep inside each of us. Based on a diagram by Mark Venn this is at the intersection of four elements:
1) What your are good at
2) What you can be paid for
3) What the world needs
4) What you love

1 and 4 is passion; 1 and 2 is your profession; 2 and 3 is your vocation; and 3 and 4 is your Mission.

When you make your passion your profession, vocation and mission in life you find Ikigai.

Falimy

A family of self-centered individuals sets out on a journey to fulfill their grandfather's pilgrimage wish to Kashi/Varanasi/Benaras, partly to prevent his frequent escapes and partly to find a distraction from their personal problems.

Anoop is a dubbing artist who lives in Trivandrum with his father Chandran, mother Rema, younger brother Abhijith and grandfather Janardhanan. Chandran, who is an unemployed person, earlier owned a printing press and Rema works in a digital press. Abhijith intends to migrate to the United Kingdom for his higher studies, while Janardhanan wishes to visit Varanasi and is caught by his family members whenever he attempts to go alone.

Anoop's family arranges a marriage proposal for him with Anagha, a teacher. On their engagement day, the marriage proposal is called off when Robin, a guy who used to stalk Anagha, disrupts the ceremony. Abhijith beats Robin and Chandran makes a complaint at the police station. After the incident, Anoop takes a two-week leave and decides to take Janardhanan to Varanasi. As Robin's friends are after him, Abhijith decides to accompany Anoop. Chandran, who is having issues with Anoop and initially showed no interest, later decides to join the journey.

On the way to Varanasi, Chandran is tricked by a tea-selling boy at a railway station and Rema, Anoop and Abhijith get off the train. The station master helps them get off Janardhanan and the luggage at Tikaria Railway Station. The next day, they reach the railway station in Tikaria and take Janardhanan with them. They catch a bus heading for Varanasi and get off in a remote place when Rema begins vomiting.

Pappu Panday, an animal trafficker, offers them a ride and on the way at a checkpoint, a police officer asks him for the vehicle's documents. Pappu Panday escapes by breaking the checkpoint and leaves Chandran and his family in a desolate place. They manage to reach Varanasi at night and take a room in a lodge.

The next morning, they learn from the receptionist that Janardhanan left with a group of monks at midnight. While searching for Janardhanan, Chandran, Rema, Anoop and Abhijith are taken to the police station by the police officer who was at the checkpoint. Rema shows their family photo when SI Sakshi Yadav asks them for ID proof.

A public announcement is made by Anoop about Janardhanan's missing case in Malayalam. Pramod, a Malayali settled in Varanasi who is familiar with Anoop's voice, meets them and assures to help find Janardhanan. Anoop learns from two people that Janardhanan is dead and that his body was cremated on the banks of the Ganges. Chandran performs Janardhanan's death rituals and Chacko, a friend of Chandran, calls Anoop to inform that Janardhanan is back home.

When Chandran and his family return home, they learn from their neighbour that Janardhanan has departed for the railway station with his friend's cremains. They meet Janardhanan on the train and joins him on the journey to Varanasi. The ticket checker kicks Chandran, Rema, Anoop and Abhijith off the train as they are travelling without tickets and Janardhanan continues his journey alone.

Basil Joseph as Anoop ; Jagadish as Chandran ; Manju Pillai as Rema ; Abhiram Radhakrishnan as Pramod ; Boloram Das as Pappu Panday did keep us hooked with comedy, suspense, plot , twists and message.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success ~ Deepak Chopra

The Book covers The Law of
  1. Pure Potential
  2. Giving
  3. Cause and Effect - Karma
  4. Least Effort
  5. Intention and Desire
  6. Detachment
  7. Purpose of Life - Dharma
1. The Law of Pure Potentiality: The source of all creation is pure consciousness...pure potentiality seeking expression from the unmanifest to the manifest. And when we realize that our true Self is one of pure potentiality, we align with the power that manifests everything in the universe.

2. The Law of Giving: The universe operates through dynamic exchange...giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.

3. The Law of 'Karma' or Cause and Effect: Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind...what we sow is what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success.

4. The Law of Least Effort: Nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease.....with carefreeness, harmony and love. And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease.

5. The Law of Intention and Desire: Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment...intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite organizing power. And when we introduce an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing power to work for us.

6. The Law of Detachment: In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty, in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning. And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe.

7. The Law of 'Dharma' purpose in life: Everyone has a purpose in life. A unique gift or special talent to give to others. When we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.
