Four Flats become Flat

On 11th and 12th January four flats in Kochi became Flat in Maradu Municipality, Kochi on the banks of the Vembanad Lake - Two each, like the twin tower coming down. This implosion was seen in live, after the infamous NY World trade ctr destruction was seen in live years back! Really agonising! The 19-floor H2O Holy Faith complex of 90 flats was the first to go down, collapsing in just a matter of a few seconds. Minutes later, the twin towers of Alfa Serene - separated by a narrow stretch of backwaters - tumbled down with an ear-splitting noise.

An environmental disaster to protect environment disasters ! But we should look into the core issue in which current corruptbBureaucrats, power brokers, black money hoarders, politicians etc. have been involved without any shame or guilt. In this nexus, many so called Pravasis also have lost all their life long earnings together with shattered dream of owning a home and all get brickbats only for their lack of in depth research in real estate and other venues of hard earned money investment!

Clear evidence of extreme corruption.. Didn't they know that it is an illegal construction when they started building it? Govt authorities take money and give sanction. Same govt later demolish the building. It was really heartbreaking to watch, it's a good message against corruption... Also an awareness for the customers... and a lesson for builders...Demolition alone will not eradicate the problem...Those who are responsible for the mess are not touched, they seems to be enjoying political patronage. The focus should also be directed on putting behind the bars the politicians/Government authorities who gave sanctions for construction. Moreover, the Apex court should also play an important role in ensuring fair compensation in future judgments..

The worst fear of any house buyer came true. Pay Rs 25 lakh compensation to all Maradu flat owners: SC tells Kerala govt but only 7 owners seems to have got it. Like always, the symptom was attacked, the disease still prevail.

Hope these rules are executed across all environmental related matters for the benefit of Kerala and the world over, focusing on the disease and not just the symptom!
