Born in Delhi on 23 August 1968 to Malayali parents, Krishnakumar Kunnath made is Career in Mumbai, and died in Calcutta on 31st May 2022, doing what he loved the best - Singing - live performance. This live music concert was at the Gurudas College festival at Nazrul Mancha auditorium, in South Kolkata. He sang 3,500 jingles before breaking into Bollywood.
The last song he sang was:
Pal (Moments)
Whether we are there tomorrow or not,
These moments will nevertheless be remembered.
Moments - these are moments of love,
Come, come along with me.
Come, what are you thinking,
Life is short
If we do get a tomorrow, it would be good fortune.
Not many knew him, as a person, but loved his songs - current generation grew up listening to his songs. He made an appearance in the song "Josh of India", released to support the Indian Cricket Team during the 1999 Cricket World Cup.
KK married Jyothy in 1991, and has a son Nakul Krishna Kunnath and a daughter Thamara. For his funeral we could see them and many singers from Bollywood, but did not see his parents - nor did we see him much in malayalam - inspite of his songs being a huge hit in many other languages, including Tamil and Marathi. He was from Thrissur.
