Sparks: Bouquet of Poems: Haridas Chengalath

"When a sensitive and imaginative mind comes into intimate contact with an emotional situation, a poem is born. The poem presented here bear testimony to such a creative union" - Introduction to the book.

Amazing, Bewitching, thought provoking, simple, free flowing.....

A collection of 23 poetry  each begins with a brief introduction. For example:

"Tapestry"

It has a personal theme. It is about harmony and contentment in marriage. The coming together of two individuals through wedlock has been compared to weaving of tapestry with perfectly blended and matching colours.

Marriage decided by destiny?
Most people tend to believe,
but I accept for sure.

Strangers were we,
like any,
When married years ago.
But in the loom of time,
We were interwoven intimately
into a strong, elegant, tapestry.

Our strengths and weaknesses,
values and dreams,
matching by coincidence,
blended and coloured the fabric
in perfect harmony.

To the designer we would bow
if the tapestry would not fade
until it is rolled up
after the curtains are drawn.

Won't you agree?

Amazon say:

This book consists of twenty three poems. I hope to light candles of thoughts with sparks of emotions and frame the flames on printed pages. Some of my poems capture my intense spiritual emotions and some are critical treatment of contemporary social and religious issues. A few poems are nostalgic recollections and one is a philosophical poem on nature. Other poems are based on purely personal experiences. The poems employ symbols and images to suit their themes and are in the form of free verse. The style is simple, direct and free.
