Palam Kalyanasundaram - The Richest Man on Earth

Palam Kalyanasundaram, born on August 1940 in Tirunelveli district of  Tamil Naidu is of 81 years (As of 2021). He studied at the University of Madras. Gold Medalist in Library Science

Government of India’s Best Librarian Award. He is a retired librarian and Social worker.

He was honored as the Man of Millennium by an American association.

The guy is a role model and also an adopted father to the legendary actor – Rajnikanth. Do not underestimate the lifestyle and education of this great legend.  According to his educational background, he is a gold medalist in library science and also holds masters in literature and history. Kalyanasundaram has acted the role of a librarian for 30 years. Apart from working as a librarian, he has also worked as a waiter in a hotel in a deal of 2 meals a day and some salary. The young librarian served his company effortlessly and donated his entire monthly salary to the orphans. He continued to do so, till his retirement. To add more, this amazing and inspiring man never married with the intention to serve his country by his kindness.

Kalyanasundaram also donated his monthly pension to the needy orphans. After Palam’s retirement in the year 1998, He founded “Paalam,” a social welfare organisation.

The past life of Kalyanasundaram will amaze you and take you to a different world of kindness. A normal looking grandpa figure has been through a list of struggles in his past life. He was motivated and inspired by his mother to help the poor and needy.

Kalyanasundaram lost his father at a tender age. Kalyanasundaram strongly believes in words said to him by Thamizhvaanan, writer of self-improvement books, “Don’t bother about how you speak. Strive to make others speak good about you.” He had found his calling: child welfare.” These words were used by the great writer to bring Kalyanasundaram out of the discouragement of his feminist voice. Achievements and Rewards:

He was awarded a sum of Rs. 30 crores as a part of his contributions towards the benefit of orphans by an American organization; however he gave the lump sum money in charity. He is among the first person in the world to have donated his entire salary to the needy.

The list of awards does not end from the Life Time of Service Award to the Rotary Club of India. Kalyanasundaram is among the top 10 librarians in the world. He also won the award of the best librarian in India, by the Union Government. Super Star Rajinikanth thrilled by Palam Kalyansundaram’s passion to help needy, Rajinikanth adopted him as his father. Palam Kalyanasundaram still stays as a bachelor as he dedicated his entire life for serving the society.Kalyanasundaram’s kindness and selfless acts teach us to leave our possessions in search for affection. It is not a piece of cake to live on two meals a day and have nothing in your pocket despite a handsome salary and stable job. He donated his ancestral property, jewelry, assets and everything that belong to him.

Kalyanasundaram said;

"I have proposed a 1000 crore project to the government called Internation Tamil Digitial Library. The government was quite hesitant about it since it requires a lot of money. But, Bill Gates has agreed to give 900 crores on behalf of Microsoft for the project and the working for the project has been successful. 

 When you're awarding celebrity stars, a grand event with security is required, but to appreciate a social worker like me, you can do it anywhere and everywhere. My mother pointed out three things to be happy in life. Don't be greedy in life, whatever you achieve in life have 9 parts of that with can be retained with you but remember to give one piece of it to people who are needy. Always remember to help at least a life one day. Be it a cow or a tree. I ensure to follow these things every day. I have an international award that was received by only 2 Indians. One was Mother Teresa and then me. United Nations recognized 20 outstanding people of the 20th century and I was the first person from Asia to receive that award.

 The biggest award considered in the world is the Nobel award but there is a bigger award than that and that's the man of the millennium award. It is given every 50 and 100 years. I have also got that award. I am telling all these things here because I have not effortfully tried anything. I just followed what my mother told me. If you follow it too, you can be a king or a queen."

“One can get money in three possible ways. First, through earnings; secondly, through parents’ earnings, and thirdly, through money donated by someone. But there’s nothing more fulfilling than being able to donate money for charity out of your own earnings.”
