Domestic Goddess - To Truly Own your Kindest Angel

Time, freedom and lifestyle depends on your choices. It need lot of effort.   Know your why. Let's create the heart of a home.

1) Domestic Goddess : Understand the essence of what is Domestic Goddess. 6 Differences between House wives (HW) and Domestic Goddesses (DG)

  1. DG is a being person, calm; HW doing all by self, tired but enjoying the journey because she loves.
  2. HW really know how to do it, but DG do not know how to do HW, but good at getting thing does, and hire well. HW is skilled
  3. DG keep her house independent of herself. If she has to travel for 15 days, she do not have to worry about the house. She will be able to supervise from distance, this is not true for HW. If she leaves, house will not run at the level with her. People will miss her for not getting what they want.
  4. DG gives credit but HWs need appreciation. They work all day and its entitlement.
  5. DG is always attached to the result - the process is not important, but HW is attached to the processes. HW need to be involved in everything. For her there is a right way and wrong way.
  6. DG's house is automatically run. With HW everything looks effortful. Time is not for her advantage.

2) Staff Training : This is very essential and a mindset change. You don't want people to change, and have them stay.

  1. You need to have a part time cook and full time house worker, anything lesser than this, it will be difficult to delegate. Maximum will depend on your home size.
  2. Pay them well. Incentivise them.
  3. Invest in their dreams and provide for it and they will become loyal to you.
  4. Have a system around their holidays.
Best practises: - Once you train them they need to stay. Use these points.
  1. Charity begin at home - give them medical insurance.
  2. Educate their children. Good karma and grateful.
  3. Clean bathroom, home and things are important. Energy around is important.
  4. Make them stay - if you feel the person is not capable, you mean you have not hired the right person. Hire fast and fire fast. Don't get angry.
    1. Train them well
    2. Supervise them
    3. Automate it and you need not have to remind them.
You can live your life of passion, only if you have someone else to support you. If things are getting done, you should be happy. Come out with solutions, when they make mistakes. Empower them and let them not make the same mistake again.

Explain -) Explore -) Empower your staff.

3) Decluttering: From 1 to 10 : 1 being cluttered and 10 being organised? Decluttering is postponing decision. When you postponed decision, clutter starts. Three step process:

Discover -) Decide - Discard.

  • Discover - What you do not need, it will carry negative energy.
  • Decide - What you hold is it useful or beautiful?
  • Discard - There are things you feel you can potentially use. What we can do is put in a carton and put a deadline. If you do not use it, from there itself, put it out of the house. If your treasure something - put it out, or give to someone who will also cherish it.
What is important is clarity.

There is something called Decision Fatigue. That is why some famous people wear only same colour dress.

  • Throw away Thursday - Every Thursday - 3 item or
  • 30 day challenge - Day 1 one day to day 30 - 30 days, so in all around 365 days
  • Reward system - Deserve when you create space - act of minimalism
Some of us have scarcity mindset - what if, we need it? Is unable to buy ? etc. Move from fear to faith and God will reward you accordingly.

4) Systems and automation

If you are lazy, become an excellent delegator. Be Dependable.

24 hour rule - within 24 hours of someone asking they will get.  Have a To Do list.

People centric house vs. System centric house.

When you are system centric you do not mind if people leave. Three things to keep in mind are:

  1. It should not be depended on you or your mood. Those houses are like sea-saw.
  2. It should be repeatable. Electrician come once a month to check all electric points
  3. Make the system invisible - It should be automatic and effortless.
Where you have been challenged, solutionlise. Make systems to what annoys you. Make simplest solutions. The easier the better.

The three best practises:
  1. Morning meetings or Dairy system. Daily accountability really helps
  2. Remind and supervise them.
  3. Have a purchase manager - Better to make your driver your purchase manager. Who will purchase and when?
Automation is not what you do. It is where you reach, when you have systems in place. Instead of going to well and getting water everyday, why not create a pipeline? Peace and Happiness will be worth sharing with others and enjoying.

5) Beautifying your home/space - Beauty is how you feel. The stories behind things at home. Don't keep things that are broken or damaged. Anything chipped and broken, it's time to go. Let things be complete. Positive energy is the key. A house can inspire you or expire you. Create cosy corners. If you believe in something, ensure you make it work in your house. Let your personality be in your house. Indian women are good at Jugaad. They know best way and easier concepts. Have plants at home as they are alive and it brings energy to home. Go around and see the colour, floral arrangement, stains. Create a corner and put a picture.

Aroma, light and sound makes a difference. Make a gorgeous space.

Channel your inner beauty Goddess. See how you would have an amazing feeling.
