Assembly Election Results - Crisis of Social Democracy

There is a worldwide crises in social democracy, but it is arguable more profound in India.

He also said," Democracy is the  worst form of government except for all the others".  Among different democratic systems, India had chosen "first past the post system"

The common thread in the recent election narrative was "Change vs. Continuity". BJP was the protagonist of continuity, and Congress and AAP of change. Continuity trumped over change. There was a desire for change, with no change, why? The Upma story, the reality of democracy.  BJP won 4/5 and AAP one.

Congress was a freedom movement as much in India as in Africa, then it became a liberal, nationalist -minded forces. Now it has been tarnished by corruption scandals and nepotism and undermined by a lack of ideology. Out of the embers of a non-dynastic Congress, an effective centre -left party could still be reborn.  Marxist was the hard left.

Though many today, just say right and left, Left is not just one, and not all are left. But now it looks like nothing is left of congress.

Wondering what Prashanth Kishore is thinking, and what would be his next move.
